Sr. ETL Developer

IMMEDIATE NEED for a Sr. ETL Developer to join a well-established manufacturing supply chain/distribution company.  This role can be based out of Dallas, TX or Denver, CO.  In this role, you will be responsible for ETL development along with SSIS, working on a new BI implementation project and supporting the current production environment. This is a “hands on” but will also be teaming with the Manager of the database team to contribute and execute the team vision, especially from a process design, improvement and standards perspective. From preliminary business requirements and solution architectures, you will conduct feasibility analysis and uses comprehensive technical knowledge, creativity and judgment in exploring possible high-level solution designs.

Responsibilities:


Produces software designs to meet complex requirements within time and cost constraints.Ensures technical documentation reflects changes to application functionality or implementation choices. Plans, conducts, and supervises assignments.Reviews progress and results, and communicates with management. Leverages team skills for successful project completion.Contributes to system design, applying established and emerging database and ETL best practices and standards.Balances between robustness and speed/cost considerations, optimizing based on what’s appropriate for the solution domain.Plans overall documentation needs and provides technical documentation relating to system design, application deployment planning, and production support requirements.Leverages quality best practices including design reviews, unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration to ensure a defect-free delivery.Maintains consistency and encourages improvement.
 

Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and ten (10) years software design and development experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceEight (8) years of experience designing and developing ETL solutionsEight (8) years of experience designing and developing database solutions with SQL ServerFive (5) years of experience with SSISFive (5) years of experience working in a complex ETL/Data Warehousing environmentThree (3) years of experience with data visualization and/or reporting environments (MicroStrategy, Tableau, SSRS, etc.)Advance knowledge in writing SQL queries, stored procedures and functionsAdvance knowledge in Data warehousing concepts, tools and methodologiesComprehensive understanding of the data processing environment, its impact on business functionsProvide support, coaching and mentoring other team members as requiredMust be able to translate functional requirements into long term sustainable technical solutionsMust be able to work on both development and production support effortsStrong communication skills. Should be able to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, methodical and logical manner to different audiences
