EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS JOB



  • Minimum of 6-8 years’ formal program and project management experience of IT projects

  • Prior experience program managing 2 or more programs simultaneously with value of over $2 million each.

  • Strong analytical and consulting skills

  • Previous project, program and portfolio management experience

  • Previous experience managing the delivery of multiple assignments with overlapping priorities & timelines

  • Previous experience working in and/or leading cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and effectively collaborate in team environments

  • Demonstrated planning and facilitation skills

  • Competency in program and project management tools





HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

This role supports the Business Technology and Building Services (BTBS) Strategic Initiative (SI) and the SI Program Sponsor. The Program Manager will coordinate, manage the SI program for BTBS. This role will work closely with Business Unit (BU) leadership team to ensure SI activities are planned, coordinated, communicated and executed. This role will act as a central hub for SI work streams and activities. Accountable to collaborate with BU leadership define specific activitiesprojects, comprehensively plan, coordinate cross program dependencies, measure and report on progress. In addition, there is an expectation to coordinate and provide progress reporting to other individuals and groups leading other strategic initiatives. The Program Manager is accountable to both the SI program sponsor and the PMO Manager for successful delivery of program objectives and deliverables.


  • Strategic Initiative Support: act as a central hub for SI work streams

  • Act as a central point of unified planning for the SI work

  • Single point of contact for SI program’s issues/risks identification and reporting

  • SI program point of contact to tie into other SI

  • Identify, track and coordinate cross program dependencies

  • Ability to manage top tier consultants and vendors

  • Strategic Initiative Monitoring: analyze BU performance against planned milestones,

  • Create program reporting (e.g., status updates, reviews) and deliver presentations indicating progress reports

  • Financial/Budgetary reporting on SI funding utilization

  • Identify and escalate resource constraints

  • Track SI activities and report and escalate when identified milestone or deliverables are at risk

  • Strategic Initiative Planning: ensure SI activities are planned, coordinated, communicated and executed 

  • Support BU leadership with the development of comprehensive plans, business case proposals, measurements/metrics of success, and resourcing requirements

  • Analyze initiative portfolio for potential conflicts in resourcing, feasibility of schedules, delivery dependencies, and other factors that may impede the successful delivery of portfolio outputs

  • Monitor and track progress, modify and recommend appropriate actions to keep BU on plan for all initiatives

  • Develop Communication and Change Management plans and cadence with Sponsor and Stakeholders.

  • Strategic Initiative Leadership: along with sponsor provide leadership for the SI program

  • Lead the Strategic Initiative which included internal/cross-functional projects or participate on teams in various capacities (SME/Support Contributor/Advisor-Consultant/Etc…).

  • Provide experienced and senior leadership for the program

  • Must have executive presence

  • Must be able to provide updates in concise and polished form ready for presentation to senior leadership

  • Utilize the most effective medium for the information you are communicating.

  • Support teams and provide real time feedback and coaching

  • Safety: Promotes and reinforces the development of a safety focused culture and mindset within area of accountability. Leads the development and integration of safety policies, procedures and practices applicable for assigned function(s).

  • Compliance: Understands, maintains knowledge and complies with all policies, procedures, and applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. Leads the design and ensures all internal controls, policies/procedures and standard practices do not conflict with applicable compliance requirements. (As Assigned)

  • Communication: Lead the effective design, delivery and reinforcement of role/functional specific communication and change management plans to ensure clarity and efficient adoption of changes to any current state working conditions (Policy, Procedure, Standards and/or Best Practices).

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to research, identify, and implement opportunities to enhance the operational effectiveness of assigned function(s). Accountable to foster an environment for the assigned area, workgroup or function that ensures opportunities are identified and implemented when possible.

  • Fiscal Accountability: Accountable for the design and ownership of allocated budget. Ensure topics such as the development and enhancement of: talent, technology, products and services are aligned to the Business Unit’s strategic plan. Monitor and report on status of budgetary status. (Variance to Plan / Capital Expenditures / OM&A)

  • Cross Functional Working Relationships (CFWR): Define, assign, and ensure adherence to all assigned/ applicable CFWR for self & assigned functions/teams. Work collaboratively with Executive and peer representatives to identify and define effective and efficient working relationships, service levels and expectations.

  • Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): Support Strategic Directive-15 (Enterprise Risk Management) through intentional management of each assigned ERM Risk via timely and thorough completion of ERM documentation, implementation and oversight of mitigation strategies, and monitoring of risk environment for significant changes as defined by ERM Responsibilities and Procedures.





PREFERRED



  • Experience in the utility industry

  • Strong working experience with strategic program Management

  • Previous working experience in program management in more than one functional area of an Enterprise (Ex: IT & Finance)

  • Master’s degree

  • Project management certification
