Duties include but are not limited to:
Serves as principal point of contact and programmatic lead providing direct program support to the Surface Operations Section Chief(s). The incumbent also renders expert technical advice and consultation with industry representatives, Surface Operations regional and field personnel, as well as representatives from other TSA offices.
Examines strategic-risk based security program operations in accordance with TSA administrative policies and precedents. Provides recommendations for improvement and innovative approaches related to surface transportation security.
Promotes and/or develops new policies, guidelines, and surface operations procedures that expand upon the effectiveness and efficiency of surface program operations.
Conducts and plans detailed analyses of surface operations field and headquarters facilitated security assessments; security awareness training, and exercise programs (i.e., Pipeline Corporate and Facility Security Reviews, Baseline Assessment for Security Enhancement (BASE), First Observer Plus, Intermodal Security Training and Exercise Program).
Plans, coordinates, and conducts comprehensive analysis of surface transportation security training exercises, assessments, and regulatory inspections.
Analyzes assigned security issues, interprets data, draws conclusions, provides options, and makes preliminary recommendations relevant to the detection and resolution of potential catastrophic terrorist events impacting overall surface transportation security operations and the well-being of the general public.
Conditions of Employment
You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI).
You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
You must have reached the minimum age (18) at the time of application.
Selective Service registration is required.
