The Group Fitness Supervisor effectively manages all group Fitness instructors, programs, and services at the fitness center to maximize participation, member retention and center profitability and new member recruiting. The Group Fitness Supervisor drives the educational development of the staff and is up to date on the latest fitness trends, techniques, and guidelines to insure a safe experience for all members, visitors, and the general public. The Group Fitness Supervisor cultivates and builds a well-balanced team of instructors and serves as a liaison between the instructor team, center administration, and other coworkers. The Group Fitness Supervisor insures that industry guidelines and regulatory agency guidelines are being met in all areas for the safety of all members, visitors, and the general public. The Group Fitness Supervisor communicates professionally to create a positive environment for all fitness center and hospital staff, other healthcare providers, members and the general public.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred.
Minimum of 2-years managing a group Fitness department for a large health club/ fitness environment
Strong communication skills; ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
Possesses general skills related to specific fitness programs.
Current national personal training certifications or primary group Fitness certification such as ACE, AFAA, NASM, or ACSM.
Heartsaver First Aid (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
