Business Analyst
IMMEDIATE NEED for a Business Analyst to join a well-established and successful health services organization. In this role, you will interface with the customer in developing requirements for major projects of considerable complexity; prepares system design specifications; conducts research to resolve customer-initiated issues related to Medicaid claims processing; and coordinates and manages project teams in the development of large multi-system, multi-platform projects.
Responsibilities:
Works closely with customer to develop requirements for major projects of considerable complexity.Prepares general system design specifications. o Creates, reviews, analyzes and estimates project requests.Performs research and analysis of customer-initiated inquiries and requests, leveraging extensive programming experience and utilizing technical tools as necessary to debug/analyze problems.Creates data flows to help in the understanding of data migration projectsFields direct questions from company Operations Staff regarding business, technical and operations rules.Develops technical solutions to complex business and system problems.Leads development teams through project implementation.Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers handling all aspects of client relations concerning technical projects, including notifying the client of implementation schedules and coordination and assistance in presentation of results. o Provides leadership by mentoring others and sharing business and system knowledge.Reviews and validates test results per requirements.Understands Medicaid process or other MMIS changes in process that may impact the customer, and notifies the customer of such changes well ahead of their implementation.Understands the connections between multiple State initiatives and their cross-impact.Vendor Management: Provides single point of contact for various vendors (software and interfaces). Coordinates installation, upgrades, problem investigation and resolution.Supports Integrated Test Facility (QA), as needed.
Qualifications:
Required Experience: 2-4 years’ experienceKnowledge of policy for Medicaid and other State health programs; Ability to interpret policy and translate into system requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent problem solving and analytical skills and attention to detail o Ability to manage multiple projects at a given time and adapt to changing priorities and manage workload accordinglyHands-on programming experience with some combination of the following: SQL, Tableau, Cloudera, AWS, Microsoft ACCESS and ExcelAbility to maintain attendance to support required quality and quantity of workMaintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective work relationships with clients, coworkers, customers and development staff Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
