We are looking for a remarkable, innovative, and experienced Software Developer to join an established team in Sunnyvale (currently working remotely due to COVID) to support the relevant groups responsible for designing, developing, prototyping, testing, and deploying system software to run advanced consumer electronic devices such as video set top boxes, media clients, and broadband gateways which enable our client to provide integrated services such as TV, Voice, and Internet on-demand across multiple devices, continuously reshaping the way all of us connect, unwind, and consume information in our day-to-day lives.



What you will be doing as a Software Developer




Develop software to be embedded in a variety of consumer electronic devices to enable on-demand access to Video, Voice, Data, and Internet as well as IoT/Connected Devices to add to and improve the enterprise suite of solutions for the home and office
Design and develop software within an Agile development framework for the RDK software stack; utilizing build tools and services including YOCTO, Linux, C, Python, and Shell Scripts
Investigate, analyze, troubleshoot, and triage issues related to Network Protocols including TCP/IP and UDP
Integrate complementary, supporting, and user-facing software components in close collaboration with coordinating Development and QA groups to ensure software features are working as designed while meeting security and quality requirements
Support and actively participate in Continuous Integration paradigm, following the processes and methodologies related to CI/CD and/or DevOps
Serve as the Single Point of Contact related to specific assigned devices in development; interface with peripheral teams inclusive of external partners to ensure devices are deployed in a timely manner
Integrate code components from partners and Open Source
Coordinate releases in conjunction with associated test teams; documenting code, products, and procedures to create development plan from product requirements while ensuring requirements traceability through the full SDLC


What you bring to the table as an Software Developer




3+ years of professional, hands-on experience directly related to Embedded Software Development and/or Systems Engineering using C, Python, Shell Scripting to design and develop software for the RDK stack
Highly proficient with YOCTO Build Framework with advanced knowledge of the system capabilities and limitations
Expertise on Communication Protocols and/or Network Protocols with emphasis on TCP/IP and UDP
Proficient with developing code and software solutions to support Middleware Applications within highly technical, complex consumer electronics or similar platforms to deliver Voice, Video and Data for consumption by the end-user
Proficient with building modern REST Web Service, consuming API/Web-Based Services, and developing solutions utilizing AWS Cloud to store/maintain operational readiness of applications in development
Proficient with activities related to QA and Testing within an Agile/DevOps/Continuous Integration framework – focusing on creating relevant technical documentation, configuring security access, and performing configuration changes to the production environment
Familiar with implementation requirements to build highly scalable services such as SOAP, REST
Familiar with implementation requirements relevant to the Core Spring Framework including sub-projects such as Spring JMS, Spring Security, Spring Data, and Spring Integration
