IMMEDIATE NEED for an API Engineer with preferably APIGEE OR Azure experience for a Contract to Perm opportunity, who will be responsible for building, deploying and maintaining Restful APIs and their communication with the down-stream systems.

 

Open to 100% REMOTE but must work on Pacific time!

 

Responsibilities:


Design and implement REST APIs for exposing backend servicesSupport end-end management of the APIs over its entire lifecycleDesign and develop API specifications using OpenAPI Specifications/YAMLWork with various application teams to understand their business needs and requirements for the API implementationHelp troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the API platform, API accessibility and API deploymentsPerform root cause analysis for Production issues and come up with solutions that will prevent them from happening in the futureEnsure API documentation is created and remains up to dateEnsure code and design quality with appropriate logging, montoring and security standards in placeCreate build and deployment pipelines for APIs using appropriate tools to implement Continuous integration and continuous deployment.Should have worked and be hands on the above said required skills
 

Required Skills:


.net coreXMLKnowledge of API Gateway & API ManagementGood understanding of REST API and JSONOpenAPI & YAMLJavascriptBasic knowledge of Cloud Architecture and Cloud platforms (preferably Azure)Experience with CICD Tools (preferably azure devops)Knowledge of existing API Testing Tools (Postman, Newman, SoapUI, or any equivalent tools)Good understanding of security schemes such as OAuth, SSO and Basic authenticationExperience designing and implementing API and integration technologies in a distributed, server-based enterprise-class environment using a combination of technologies such as REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, OpenAPI, JavaScript, Python, J2EE, Java, .Net, Node.js, Nginx, Cassandra, etc.Experience with cloud hosting, architectural principles in security, distributed computing, and Developer Operations experience, such as: Linux Administration, Git, Maven etc.
Additional Skills:


Exposure to any COTS API Management platforms such as Apigee, Azure API Management is a plusExposure to Powershell scripting
