JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform assessments, evaluations, consultations, differential diagnosis, and treatment for all disorders defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (current edition) published by the American Psychiatric Association.
- Work closely with clinical staff and/or base personnel regarding patient awareness of mental health wellness programs.
- Provide therapeutic treatment and evaluation of patients in the Family Advocacy Program dealing with domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse, as requested.
- Provide patient consultations requested by NHCP staff health care providers within guidelines established by the NHCP.
- PRovide therapeutic treatment and evaluation of patients with PTSD, Combat Stress Disorders and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Conduct collaborative evaluations to facilitate treatment planning for TBI patients.
- Provide input to medical board determinations and administrative separations as requested.
- Conduct clinical staff education when requested to enhance knowledge, understanding, and awareness of PTSD, and treatment options for the management of PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, and other combat related disorders.
