Loyal Source is currently looking for an Employee Benefits Specialist to join our team of professionals in Orlando, FL. As a member of the Loyal Source team, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside professional staff who excel in providing employment opportunities to professionals in the Healthcare industry. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan in an Ultimate Software environment for a variety of clients.
*Note this is a full time contract role with the initial term of 90 days
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the administration of various benefits plans for various clients including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, wellness plans, and retirement plans.
- Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third party administrators and work closely together communication regarding plan information.
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Answers questions and provides information and general assistance regarding benefits and related human resources programs, plans, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Responds timely to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
- Process new hire enrollments and assist with the open enrollment process.
- Manage the look back process and assist with enrollments.
- Manage the accurate and timely updates of all benefit-related premium adjustments in Payroll and respond to payroll inquiries as it relates to benefits and retirement deductions; review and reconcile arrears and recycle reports from payroll.
- Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
- Perform plan audits weekly and monthly
- Ensure LSGS compliance with HIPAA, maintaining employee privacy where appropriate, including confidentiality and protection of sensitive information.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the HR Management team.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum one-year experience in HR and benefits administration
- Associate's degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education
- Experience with Ultimate Software a plus
- Strong knowledge of HRIS/benefits administration systems
- Good understanding of Healthcare Reform
- Self-directed, works with minimal supervision
- Work under steady pressure with frequent interruptions and a high degree of contact by phone or in person
- Must be comfortable working in a fast paced – growing and evolving environment.
- Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports
- Demonstrated experience with MS Office products, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with staffing, healthcare, or the federal contracting highly desirable
- Authorized to work in the United States
